The Position:

Summer Grounds Worker (Intern): requires some work/hands on experience working in some facet of the green industry with a green industry field of study.

Position Overview:

These are temporary, hourly, seasonal positions. The Intern will assist with the maintenance of indoor and outdoor gardens and displays as well as grounds maintenance and landscaping responsibilities.

Work Schedule:

The work schedule is varied and may include weekends and holidays.

College Credit:

Cranbrook is willing to work with your Academic Advisor to meet the needs of you earning credit in your degree program.

Wages:

$15.83 per hour

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Work with horticulture/arboriculture staff to coordinate and carryout daily tasks

Operate tractor, mowers, power equipment, etc. Assist with the maintenance and installation of indoor and outdoor gardens under the supervision of the horticulture staff (weeding, watering, planting, etc.)

Maintain trees and control invasive plants Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management staff

Requirements:

All applicants undergo a background screening process including a Criminal background check Must be able to lift 30lbs and work outdoors in extreme weather conditions

Valid Driver’s License
