StuyTown Property Services is responsible for taking care of the almost 28,000 residents that live in our community on the East River between 14th St. and 23rd St. We are focused on being both a great place to work and to live. We are looking for someone to assist in the management of horticulture and landscape services in the role of Landscape Manager. What you will do:

  • Manage the 2 wire irrigation systems seasonal programming and operational efficiency.
  • Provide support and training of team members performing seasonal maintenance, repairs, and modifications of the irrigation system.
  • Lead, direct and support the grounds team, maintenance contractors, and seasonal staff in daily horticultural operations.
  • Perform monthly tool and material inventories. Place and receive purchase orders for departmental operations.
  • Routinely evaluate department performance to ensure property, horticultural, and safety standards are being maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Landscape foreman on daily team schedules, weekly payroll, and PTO (Paid Time Off) requests.
  • Assist the Director of Horticulture in managing maintenance contractors, seasonal enhancement projects, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Assist Director of Horticulture with coordination and oversight of snow removal operations across 80-acre residential community.
  • Create a positive work culture that inspires teamwork, open communication, safe working conditions and a sense of accomplishment among the team. Perform monthly team meetings to keep the team well informed of the operation and expectations.
  • Salary range $80-100k with a full benefits package and potential for relocation.

What you should have:

  • Fanatical discipline and relentless desire to do what needs to be done.
  • Strong understanding of irrigation management. Horticulture or landscape management experience leading a team.
  • A record of accomplishment in developing irrigation management strategies that improve efficiency and reduce water usage in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with Unions a plus.
  • A love for doing what others will not and solving exceedingly difficult problems.
  • A desire to grow and take on ever increasing responsibility.
