Congratulations to Traverse Jurcisin for his first-place win at the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Startup Weekend, November 2, 2018 to November 4, 2018.  Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures.  At MSU, this 54-hour event is designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekend culminated in Sunday night demonstrations and presentations. Participants created working startups during the event and were able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks.

Traverse is a Horticulture Science Major focusing on creating automation for precision growing tools.  He collaborated with other students to pitch and create a startup called BioSolution Innovations whose product, Poseidon, is a smart automated inline fertilizer injection system.  Poseidon proportions multiple fertilizers into a water line such that the fertility provided to the plant during irrigation is precisely calibrated.
