Entomologist Zsofia Szendrei was recently interviewed by Michigan Radio’s Stateside with Cynthia Canty about the swede midge population in Michigan vegetables. Swede midge, a very small fly whose larvae are attacking cole crops, has turned up on several organic farms in Sanilac County. Szendrei talks about the current population in Michigan, control methods and what’s at stake for Michigan vegetables.
