MSU Extension Organizational Development

Online Coursework:

All new employees have two key courses in Desire 2 Learn (D2L), which is MSU's course management system. They should complete both, in this order:

1. MSU Extension: New Staff Orientation. Complete this course in MSU's course management system, Desire2Learn (D2L). You should be able to log into D2L within days of receiving your MSU NET ID. Email amb@msu.edu if you are unable to log into D2L. We recommend completing this course in your first month of employment. We automatically enroll staff but staff may also self-enroll here.
   
   
2. MSU Extension: Essential New Employee Training. Compete this course AFTER you have completed the above course. We recommend completing it within the first 2-3 months of employment. We automatically enroll staff but staff may also self-enroll here.

New Staff Orientation (NSO):

Whereas the online coursework (above) provides much of the "content" for onboarding, our face-to-face orientation focuses on "connections" and provides new staff with the opportunity to meet many of the Extension employees who are here to support and guide them in learning their new role. This is a two-day event live on the campus of MSU and staff will stay at the Graduate Hotel in East Lansing.  Upcoming dates:
