MSU Extension Organizational Development

Online D2L Coursework:

All new employees have two key courses in Desire 2 Learn (D2L), which is MSU's course management system. They should complete both, in this order:

1. MSU Extension: New Staff Orientation. Complete this course in MSU's course management system, Desire2Learn (D2L), in your first month of employment. You can self-enroll here.
2. MSU Extension: Essential New Employee Training. Compete this course AFTER you have completed the above course. We recommend completing it within the first 2-3 months of employment. You can self-enroll here.

New Staff Orientation (NSO):

Whereas the online coursework (above) provides much of the "content" for onboarding, our face-to-face orientation focuses on "connections" and provides new staff with the opportunity to meet many of the Extension employees who are here to support and guide them in learning their new role. This is a two-day event live on the campus of MSU and staff will stay at the Graduate Hotel in East Lansing.
