MFIN Virtual Meeting: Garden to Cafeteria

The MFIN Virtual Network meeting on August 17 looked at the question: how can school gardens provide produce to the cafeteria? Farm to School Program Manager Matthew Hargis from Drew Farm, part of Detroit Public Schools Community District, shared experiences with food safety, communicating about menus, and crop planning. Wendy Crowley, Farm to Program Consultant with Michigan Department of Education, highlighted ways that 10 Cents a Meal can support local sourcing.
