Merrill S. Fuller Memorial Scholarship

Application Due Date: October 8, 2023

Available to currently enrolled or incoming freshmen MSU students who are majoring in Horticulture. This department scholarship is one of several which participate in a single scholarship online application form, typically due in early October of each year. Currently enrolled Horticulture Students will receive an e-mail from their advisor when the electronic application process opens, with instructions on how to apply as well as the deadline.

Typical amount awarded: $1,500

Student selection criteria for this scholarship is as follows:

  • A minimum of four awards shall be given to undergraduate’s who have been graduated from high school for at least eight years at the time of their admission to MSU. Two of these awards will be available to students carrying at least 12 credits; the awards must be a minimum of $500. Two additional awards will be available for students carrying 6-12 credits; the awards must be at least $250.
  • A minimum of one award shall be presented to an incoming freshman undergraduate who has demonstrated a special interest and aptitude in plant sciences during high school through course work, independent study, science fair projects, 4-H projects, or work experience. The amount of the award must be a minimum of $1,000.
  • The remaining money may be awarded at the discretion of the selection committee for general scholarships
