MSU construction management students work to improve energy efficiency at Belle Isle

Eight students from the MSU School of Planning, Design, and Construction Construction Management program worked on a team to assess energy performance and make recommendations for energy improvements to the Belle Isle Boathouse Building. -

Beloved interior design professor April Allen dies

April D. Allen, assistant professor of interior design in the School of Planning, Design and Construction, passed away from a stroke on Sunday. -
MSU School of Planning, Design and Construction participated in the Design & Build Day at Impression 5 Science Museum

On Oct. 13, the SPDC participated in the Design & Build Day at Impression 5 Science Museum. This was the second year that HBA of Greater Lansing and Impression 5 organized this event, and this year, SPDC was one of the 11 participating facilitators. -

MSU interior design seniors, Lauren Stoklas and Michael Bry, have been awarded the William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship to study abroad this fall at the American University in Dubai. -

MSU Interior Design Program Bachelor of Arts degree awarded accreditation by CIDA for six more years

The SPDC is pleased to announce that as of April 2018, the Council for Interior Design Accreditation has awarded accreditation for a term of six years to the MSU Interior Design Program’s Bachelor of Arts degree. -
Bridging art, design and stories: Interior design student Gavin Kata shares his experience winning the MSU Bridge Project

Gavin Kata, a senior majoring in interior design at SPDC, participated in and won a contest to have his artwork featured on the bridge between Spartan Stadium and the Main Library. The design is now installed on the bridge. -

For several weeks, the group of more than 150 students, faculty, their family members, and even some of their pets had assembled at the MSU Recycling Center to build the university's first tiny house.
