Job Description: We are currently seeking a creative and experienced Landscape Designer to join our team. The Landscape Designer will play a key role in conceptualizing and designing custom landscapes that reflect our clients' vision, while incorporating sustainable practices and innovative design solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for landscape architecture, excellent design skills, and a strong understanding of plant materials and horticultural principles.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budgetary considerations.
- Develop conceptual landscape designs that integrate hardscape elements, plantings, lighting, and other features to create cohesive outdoor environments.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and materials lists for client presentations and project implementation.
- Coordinate with project managers, landscape architects, and contractors to ensure successful project execution from concept to completion.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, gather measurements, and identify opportunities and constraints.
- Research and select appropriate plant materials and hardscape materials based on site conditions, climate, and client preferences.
- Stay updated on industry trends, sustainable practices, and emerging technologies to continually enhance design offerings.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and external stakeholders throughout the design process.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in landscape design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Dynascape Design, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design software.
- Knowledge of plant materials, landscape construction techniques, and local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent design sensibility, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship in landscape design.
- Professional licensure (preferred but not required).
