Position Description
VisionScapes LLC is seeking a motivated, hands-on Landscape Installation Intern for the
upcoming season. This opportunity is ideal for Michigan State University Horticulture
students who want real-world experience in landscape design, plant installation, sustainable
landscaping practices, and luxury hardscape construction.
This is not just a shadowing role. Interns will actively work alongside experienced professionals
in the field and gain practical knowledge that connects classroom concepts to real installation
work.
What You’ll Do
• Assist with landscape bed preparation, planting, mulching, and edging
• Support installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, and other hardscape
features
• Help with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material movement
• Learn sustainable landscape practices, including native plant integration and lowchemical approaches
• Gain exposure to project layout, material selection, and outdoor space design
• Assist with jobsite organization, cleanup, and professional tool handling
What We’re Looking For
• Current MSU student or recent graduate in Horticulture, Landscape Design,
Landscape Contracting, or a related field
• Strong interest in hands-on outdoor work
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take pride in craftsmanship
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
• A valid driver’s license is preferred
