JOB TITLE: On-Call Botanical Technologist

WORKING TITLE: On-Call Service/Maintenance

DEPARTMENT: Radiology

REPORTS TO: Luke Cole, Botanical Technologist II

The Radiology Healing Gardens were established in 2000 to help meet the wellness needs of our community. Every day, this hidden treasure on campus is frequented by many visitors including students unwinding after exams, employees de-stressing during downtime, and patients awaiting answers. GENERAL SUMMARY

The Department of Radiology is hiring an On-Call Botanical Technologist to maintain the Radiology Healing Gardens. This includes but is not limited to, plant maintenance including weeding and watering in the gardens, greenhouse, and interiorscape; pond maintenance including scrubbing pond walls and waterfalls and cleaning pond filters; feeding fish; spreading mulch; and operating power equipment such as lawnmowers, leaf blowers, trimmers, and edgers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Daily irrigation of greenhouse plants as needed

· Cleaning and maintenance of greenhouse including plants and structure

· Monitoring crops for possible insects and pathogens

· Blowing/raking leaves from lawn and path

· Plant propagation

· Weekly irrigation, pruning, trimming and rotation of interiorscape plants

· Maintenance of garden including watering, weeding, mowing, deadheading and planting

· Daily monitoring of pond and its filtration system

· Winter snow removal

· Weekly pond cleaning
