Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard has a full-time position for an Assistant Orchard Manager with a background in Horticulture, or Agronomy, with an interest in education. Established in 1925, Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard Educational Foundation, Inc., is a 501(c)3 Public Charity. Situated on 98 acres outside of Nebraska City, we are a working orchard dedicated to agricultural education, research, and historic preservation.

This position will work closely with the Orchard Manager in the management, maintenance, and health of all aspects of the Orchards & Vineyards. Other duties include management of field staff and developing educational programming. Our expectation is for the individual in this position to succeed the current orchard manager upon his retirement.

We are looking for a team-oriented, self-motivated professional with managerial skills/experience, who enjoys working in the outdoors, and the motivation to further our mission of education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in horticulture or agronomy preferred; equivalency of experience
  • VA Private Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain
