Master's student receives industry scholarship in cut flower production

Caleb Spall received the Dave Dowling Scholarship from the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers.

The Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers (ASCFG) awarded Caleb Spall the 2021 Dave Dowling Scholarship. Caleb is currently a master's student and already has a broad range of experience in the floral industry. He has worked in several commercial greenhouses, and participated in many research projects.

Caleb's goal is to "help improve the greenhouse specialty cut flower production of fresh, exciting, and high-quality specialty cut flowers throughout the year."

The ASCFG is dedicated to advancing the domestic cut flower industry by encouraging young people to consider cut flower production as a career. To foster this goal, every year the ASCFG awards scholarships to two students interested in becoming cut flower growers or who plan to support the cut flower industry upon graduation.
