Students studying at two- and four-year institutions are encouraged to apply for the Anthony W. “Tony” LaFetra Scholarship Program! Applications are due by March 31, 2024, and applicants will be notified of their status by May 31.

The Anthony W. “Tony” LaFetra Scholarship Program, honoring Rain Bird’s late president and CEO, provides meaningful financial support for worthy candidates pursuing irrigation-related degrees. Scholarships are awarded based on the student’s letter of intent, financial need, reference letters, resume and list of irrigation-related courses taken or enrolled in.

To be eligible, a student must 

  • be currently enrolled (undergraduate or graduate) at a U.S. technical or vocational school, community college, university or similar institution of higher learning with a graduation date of December 2024 or later.
  • be a U.S. citizen.
  • have taken or be currently enrolled in a class with an irrigation-related curriculum.
  • have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average, based on a 4.0 scale.
  • demonstrate financial need.
  • not have been selected as a scholarship recipient in a prior year.
