Loan Cao receives 1st place award in thesis competition

Doctoral student Loan Cao's thesis presentation was a first place winner at the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting.

Loan Cao, doctoral student in Food Science/Environmental and Integrative Toxicological Sciences, won the first place award from the judges in the 3-Minute Thesis competition at the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting last week in Salt Lake City. Loan’s presentation titled “Relationship of arsenic and lead concentrations in soil and that in fruits and leaves of apple trees at selected orchards in Michigan” was on a portion of her dissertation research. The 3-Minute Thesis competition is hosted by the IAFP Student Professional Development Group.
