Bio

Ray is a master's student in the Vegetable Entomology Lab at Michigan State University under Zsofia Szendrei, researching neonicotinoid resistance in Colorado potato beetle populations across Michigan. Their work also examines alternative insecticide programs for managing Colorado potato beetle compared with traditional neonicotinoid applications in potato production.

Ray earned a bachelor’s degree in crop and soil sciences with a concentration in agronomy from MSU and completed a minor in entomology. Their interests include insect pest management, soil health and agricultural sustainability.
