Building on heightened interest in systems and policies that promote sustainability, the American Planning Association and the CS Mott Group for Sustainable Food Systems (now CRFS) at Michigan State University convened staff and member representatives from 8 national organizations representing local and regional government stakeholders for a roundtable discussion on local and regional food systems. The brief below summarizes the 1.5-day event held in Washington, DC, in late April 2011.
