MwAPATA Institute Officially Launches October 1st

The MwAPATA Institute is a Centre of excellence in agricultural, natural resources and rural development policy research, providing concrete policy guidance and implementation support for agricultural transformation in Malawi

MwAPATA is pleased to invite members of the public to the Institute’s launch scheduled to take place on Thursday, 1st October 2020 from 8:00am to 12:30pm. The Guest of Honour at the Launch will be the Hon. Lobin Lowe, MP, Minister of Agriculture. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, this will be virtual event and participants will be joining via a zoom link that is available at the MwAPATA Institute’s website: www.mwapata.mw. The launch will be livestreamed on MwAPATA Institute Facebook page and YouTube channel.

MwAPATA is an independent policy think tank in Malawi. The goal of the MwAPATA Institute is to promote the formulation of effective, locally led policies and programs to drive a broad-based agricultural transformation for wealth creation and improved food security. The institute responds to public and private sector needs in the agricultural, natural resources, and broader rural space.  

The MwAPATA Institute is affiliated to the National Planning Commission and the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Institute works closely with Michigan State University, which provides technical and institution-building support.
