Online Program Offering Options
Online Program Options
If you have been thinking about offering an online program, or thinking ahead to how to integrate technology into a future in-person program (when MSU Extension is offering in-person programming), the options below may help you in making some decisions.
Live Session - With In-Person and Virtual Audience
A session that is held live with an in-person and online audience takes a lot of thought and planning. Here are some things to consider:
- Make sure the location has the equipment needed for Zoom (room audio, projector, Internet connection). If the location does not have the required equipment you may need to bring some of your own.
- Test the location at least a week ahead of time.
- If the session is being recorded you can share the recordings via MediaSpace or YouTube.
Tools:
- Zoom
- Camtasia video editing software
- MediaSpace or YouTube (for hosting recordings)
Live Session and In the Field Extension - With In-Person and Virtual Audience
If you are going to be on-site for program and possibly including both classroom and outdoor activities you need to be prepared in terms of how to integrate the virtual audience. It is not advised to try and include the virtual audience using a SmartPhone or DIY video. In this instance, work with a professional video team.
