This report gives the results of a national literature search that examined the most up-to-date studies of demand for locally produced meats. Currently, there are no studies that asses the demand for locally and regionally produced meats in Michigan, highlighting the need for further research. The authors suggest that the articles and publications highlighted in this document, which are specific to different regions of the United States and based on similar findings across the nation, likely echo some of the trends in similar socioeconomic regions in Michigan.
