Prospective Graduate Students

The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR)offers diverse graduate programs for individuals interested in helping tackle some of the word's biggest challenges related to food, health and the environment.

We encourage you to explore the websites of the departments in the CANR to learn more about the graduate programs, the faculty and their research and the requirements of each program.

Applying to a Graduate Program

When you are ready to take the next step in your education, apply to the Graduate School at MSU.  Most of our programs accept applications at any time of the year; however, to be fully considered for assistantships and fellowships, we recommend that you check the department’s specific deadline information and apply by Jan. 1 for admission into that year's fall semester.

Once you have started your online application process, you will be granted access to the portal, which will allow you to upload and track your application materials.
