In March of 2013, Dr. Richard Snider was contacted by Mrs. Norma Drew, regarding her late husband’s spider collection. Les Drew, a former MSU Zoology student had worked on spiders while at MSU and she felt he would have liked his collection to return here. For the cost of shipping, graciously covered by the Department of Entomology, we received over 3000 vials of spiders and most of his spider literature. Ralph Gorton, has started replacing rubber-stoppered vials with screw caps and cataloguing what is in the collection. Most of these specimens represent western material which was previously poorly represented in our collection.
