The Placemaking Strategy Development Workshop Series is wrapping up on May 29. These events are free and open to the public, so be sure to reserve your space today! The series is co-hosted by the MSU Land Policy Institute, MSU Extension and the Michigan Municipal League.

There are a few Option 2 workshops still available (three hours of instruction and three hours of facilitated development of a draft placemaking strategy for each community in attendance):

  • Pontiac (May 18), Howell and St. Johns (May 20), Iron Mountain (May 26), Ishpeming and Taylor (May 27), Hancock (May 28), and Escanaba (May 29).

The intended audience for these workshops are city council and township boards; local, county and regional staff; county and planning commissioners; civic and business leaders; and key developers and community members. Communities will need multiple participants to maximize synergy and benefit for the community.

These workshops are free and open to the public with meals on your own. RSVPs are required and registration is available online. Space is limited to first come, first served, so register today! Michigan Citizen Planner is offering one CEU (continuing education unit) per one hour of instruction for Master Citizen Planners (up to six (6.0) CEUs for Option 2 workshops).
