A message from CANR Dean Ron Hendrick

CANR Community,

There is never justification for inciting violence. Today’s events at the United States Capitol are no exception. Regardless of whatever differences in party affiliation and opinions we may have, a peaceful transition of government is essential to our democracy. Today’s events are difficult to watch and to process, and antithetical to what we both aspire and claim to be as a country.

I appreciate how the CANR community has overwhelmingly come together to support each other during the numerous traumatic events, both on campus and off, we’ve experienced the past few years. As a college, our students, faculty and staff – many of whom are international or members of historically marginalized communities – need to know that they are in a place where we respect and honor them. We will remain steady for you, and each other.

Sincerely,

Ron Hendrick, Ph.D.
Professor and Dean
